Quest Summary
Recently, Bill discovered the Shadowdark RPG. He knows he's around a year late to this wonderful throwback to the OSR, but after reading the first few pages in the game store, he was hooked.
In this solo episode he rolls up a character—3d6 in order, ancestry and the four classes, gear slots and encumbrance—then digs into what makes Shadowdark tick: the real-time torch, a simple d20 core that rewards description over rolling, fragile characters, and risky spellcasting. He closes with first impressions, who the game is for, and a look ahead to building a Shadowdark adventure with the bullet journal method.
"I'm hooked."
